FLOW Alpine / Freeride / Snowboard
GTSSF now offers Flow or Competition Team programs.
The Flow Program is GTSSF’s premier non-competitive track across Alpine, Freeride, Snowboard, and Cross Country disciplines. Designed specifically for young athletes, it emphasizes skill development, mountain awareness, and fostering a lifelong love for skiing and riding.
Through fun, guided exploration of varied terrain, athletes build strong fundamentals, teamwork, and confidence—perfectly preparing them for a smooth progression into advanced programs. Our ultimate goal is to create well-rounded skiers and riders by blending the precision of gate training with the freedom of all-mountain exploration.
Program Schedule & Options
Season: December – March
- U8: Sundays only
- U12+: Sunday + 1 Day, or Sunday + 2 Days options
- Skill Development & Focus
Our curriculum places a heavy emphasis on play, varied terrain, and refining ski fundamentals. The three core technical components we target are balance, rotary, and edging.
Coaches emphasize having fun while actively building teamwork, learning mountain safety, introducing gate training, and enjoying time outside. Guided free skiing and drills are an integral part of the Alpine Flow program. Furthermore, children will be encouraged to lead a balanced lifestyle with healthy habits that promote success in sports and life.
"Positive parental support is essential. Athletes are arranged in groups based on skill, speed, and social needs."
Skill Assessment *Required
We will conduct the USSA SkillsQuest Assessment on the 1st day of practice. This assessment determines which specific group within the program your athlete will participate in.
If a child is not yet ready for programs, families can leave any payments on their account to be used at a future date or receive a full refund. Should your athlete need to work to improve on any of the skills within this assessment, we will recommend moving back to Flow. Athletes will be recommended to move from Flow to Team based on their coaches’ recommendation.
✓ Note: Any children who participated in programs last year may register and participate without doing the skills assessment.
Skills Assessment Criteria
- Athletes can load and unload all Grand Targhee lifts independently with no assistance, put down the bar, and be aware of lift safety (sit back in the chair).

Payment, Plan, & Refund Policies
If an athlete anticipates participation in multiple competitions over the course of a single season, that family may prefer to set up a monthly or bi-weekly payment plan to cover estimated costs. An additional invoice will be sent after each event for any balance owed to account for the difference between the deposit and the actual cost. GTSSF does not mark up any event costs.
